Review for Defy by Raine Thomas

Seventeen-year-old Tate is about to make her parents’ dreams come true. Unfortunately for her, their dreams foretell her death.

Eager to explore more of the Estilorian plane and prove her abilities, Tate goes against her parents’ wishes and leaves the area of protection surrounding her home. Her choice puts her on a deadly path…one that leaves her alone, severely injured and battling for her life.

Her possible savior arrives in the form of Zachariah, a male who has removed himself from Estilorian society for more than fifty years. Fighting an unexpected connection to Tate, he must decide whether saving her life is worth destroying his.

As Tate struggles to find a way home, she ends up drawn into a dark Mercesti plot involving multiple murders and a powerful ancient artifact. With the unpredictable Zachariah as her only source for aid, she’ll soon find out if her abilities are strong enough to help her defy her Fate

My Thoughts
I have been a big fan of Raine Thomas ever since I read her first trilogy the daughters of saraqael, so I was really excited when she announced she would be doing another trilogy based in the same world, and Defy did not let me down.

It follows Tate the eldest daughter of Skye and Caleb as she goes against her parents wishes and goes beyond the safe protections of her home wanting to explore more of the Estilorian plane in doing so she puts herself in danger, which will leave severely injured and alone with know idea how to get home.
she makes contact through her dreams with an Estilorian called Zachariah who she nicknames Sparky who as been hiding away from other Estilorian for many years.

I loved this book and couldn't put it down,as soon as it was available it was on my kindle and I read it with in two days but with Raine's other books I will be reading it again and again because its just that sort of book. I loved been back in the Estilorian world.

Tate grows so much in this book, at 17 all she wants is to be able to follow in her older cousins footsteps and explore more of the world she lives in she and is a typical 17 year old when she doesn't get her way, but the following chain of events will see her grow into a strong resourceful young woman

I instantly feel in love with Zachariah (Well, I do have a thing for Gloresti, even if he as been hiding out)he is determined to stay in hiding but he cant help be drawn to Tate her strange ways pulls at his curiosity having been away from the Estilorian plane so long he as know understand of who she is which class of Estilorian she was or why she acts the way she does.

This was a five out of five for me and I am excited to read the next in the series
