Coco is back in true coco style and I loved it. She is as witty, sarcastic, funny and well just as coco as ever.

At the end of Coco Pinchard's Big fat tipsy wedding we finally thought Coco was going to ride off into the happily ever after, but this is Coco and life never goes smoothly this book proves that

This book has it all pregnancy, drugs, alcohol, unemployment and annoying ex in laws there is never a dull moment.

One thing I really loved is how spot on Rob was about pregnancy, I have two children my youngest is only 7 months old so I have recently gone through pregnancy and labour myself and I was pleasantly surprised how much Rob knew, I am certain nearly everything he wrote about happened to me at some point during one of my pregnancy, he was incredibly accurate about labour too I admire this even more for a man to write such accurate account of what us women go through, although I was lucky enough to have both my baby's like take a break. Wanna no what that means? then go read the book.

I loved that Ethel was back with her endless supply of door keys, she is one of my favourite characters throughout the whole series

I can't rate this book highly enough and could carry on telling you all how amazing this book is but I don't think I could do it justice, the best way to find out how brilliant this book is, is to read it yourselves, you want regret it. I laughed so heard I cried. I cried  but then moments later I would be laughing again.

Rob is an extraordinary writer who blends comedy and drama so effortlessly, whether he carries on the Coco series  or moves on with new story's and characters I know I will be following his work, he as never failed to disappoint.

Review; Pierced (Pierced #1) by J.C. Mells

Imagine the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo meets Betty Crocker. 

That's Pierce in a nutshell.

Pierce has been on the run for two years from the man who held her captive in a vampire compound for almost a decade. Life on the run would be a lot simpler if she didn't suffer from several social disorders and 'quirks', have a ten-year-old brat in tow, as well as have two characters from a 1945 classic film living in her head and guiding her at every turn

My thoughts

Straight away with this book we see that the main character Pierce is different from most girls not just because of her numerous piercings or her short spiked hair but because she sees the world differently to most. Not only that but she as split personalities living inside her mind who we often get to see her interacting with, I loved the snide remarks and the comedic conversations she as with her two inner personality’s Veda and Mildred.

Pierce is on the run from a man who has held her captive in a vampire compound for most of her life she managed to escape bringing along with her a ten year old girl named Mia, they are constantly on the run to avoid capture.

Pierce although adamant that that she and Mia can manage on there on does pick up a few friends albeit grudgingly on both sides along the way.

The story touches on many things, Asperger’s, drug use, sex/rape, abuse so for that reason I don’t think it would be suitable for a younger audience and would class it as New Adult, I am only pointing this out as a lot of my reviews are YA

I am defiantly looking forward to reading more in the series

Review; Quake by Lisa Arrington

Ali and Caden thought they were your average teenagers trying to navigate high school pressures and college decisions.

During a camping trip all of that changes when an earthquake ushers in an Alien invasion on their small desert hometown.

Lives are lost and friendships are tested as Ali and Caden, along with their best friends, begin running for their lives. However, nothing can prepare them for the secrets they discover when they begin learning more about themselves then they ever thought possible

My thoughts

This is not the usual sort of book that I read but I was intrigued by the blurb and couldn’t resist. I was glad I stepped out of my comfort zone, I was really pulled in by the characters and felt I was right there alongside them, I finished this book in one evening, mainly because I was afraid I would have nightmares if I didn’t get to the end Ha. Yes I am a bit of wuss when it comes to things like this I’ll admit it.

I liked how Ali and Caden are just normal teenagers hanging out with friends it made it easier to connect with the characters.

Friendships are really put to the test in this story and not everything or everyone are what they seem, there is a lot of twists and turns and the book is full of suspense even the ending was a big surprise and I find myself wanting to step out of comfort zone once more and perhaps endure more nightmares to read the sequel

Review; Disconnect (Divided Worlds #1) by Imran Siddiq

In space, love had boundaries.

My thoughts

This book was like nothing a have read before and I found its uniqueness a refreshing change.

The author did some great world building and Zachary’s character really drew me into the story. I didn't always agree with the choices Zachary made but then he is a sixteen year old boy and I am a youngish (Cough) woman so in that respect Zachary was like most teenage boys.

I even had a soft spot for his robot ha.

The story is fast moving and action packed, Zachary lives in what is known as the “Underworld” where every day is a fight for survival when he sees a chance to see the overworld he takes it.

The ending had me shocked to the core I really wasn't expecting the outcome that transpired and as I am often good at figuring out how a book will end I was pleasantly surprised to be completely wrong and now cannot wait to read the sequels.

My thoughts

I have to confess I read this book a while ago but due to having a new born baby in the house it as taken me a while to write this review so first I feel I should apologise to Andrew for the delay

.

I had been looking forward to reading book two in the Lansin Island series for some time and I was not disappointed. It was easy to pick the story back up from where “A Death Displaced” left off and I felt reconnected to the characters straight away.

Nick and Juliet are both  likeable characters, I will admit I expected that there would be romance between these two but in actual fact the story started with them apart, living different lives and having different relationships, it was refreshing to see an author not doing what we would expect and I felt this added much more to the story.

In this story Nick is again faced with solving another mystery and again it is personal and time is running out.

Juliet is trying to put behind her all that happened in the previous book and trying to control her powers and block out the unwanted spirits that are invading her life, things never goes as we want them and soon she will find herself dragged back into the world she so wants to run and hide from

I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys paranormal/fantasy and mystery and I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
