Without further adieu, let's find out more about Raine's book and check out the beautiful cover designed by Regina Wamba of MaeIDesign...

Return of the Ascendant Blurb

Expecting to enjoy another typical college night at a frat party with friends, Kyra Vaughn’s plans derail when she’s almost killed…twice. Her savior, a tall, sexy stranger who calls himself TaeDane, claims that he’s the personal bodyguard for the Ascendant of Alametria. She’s convinced he’s crazy.

Especially when he insists that she’s the Ascendant.

With dark enemies hunting her down, Kyra has no choice but to trust her supposed bodyguard. Ty vows to help her remember her past and return her safely to Alametria, but someone seems intent on interfering, challenging his abilities at every turn.

As Kyra’s memories emerge, she remembers that Ty is more to her than he’s let on…much more than he’s allowed to be. She’ll also discover that there are many things about her planet and herself that she’d rather forget. In the end, she’ll have to make a choice: cling to the life she knows, or risk it all to become the person she’s destined to be.

And now, the big reveal!

We hope to see you all at the Curses, Fates & Soul Mates party!

Photographer Sierra Stratton views the world through a lens all her own. She has an uncanny sense about people, something that often causes her trouble. When she meets the sexy and brooding Evan Dorsey, her intuition tells her he’s suffering, and she wants to be the one to help him.

Evan isn’t open to help from anyone, however. His focus is on his Major League career and making himself as marketable as possible for his upcoming free agency. He plans to ride out the season in Atlanta and then sign with another team, away from the painful memories that haunt him.

Someone’s eager to send him on his way, too. Between anonymous threats and equipment sabotage, it’s clear he’s earned himself an enemy along the way. To him, it’s one more sign that he’s right to move on.

But Sierra threatens his conviction. Her contagious smile proves hard to resist, as does her kiss. She tempts him in ways he never anticipated, making him question his plans for the first time. If he’s not careful, she might just convince him that he’s meant for her.

My Thoughts
When I heard Raine Thomas was releasing another NA contemporary romance I knew I would have to get my hands on it. I have loved all Raine' books and love how she writes both YA paranormal and NA contemporary romance so flawlessly and how she manges to write both seemingly effortlessly. I need to give Raine extra thanks this time as with her latest release Meant for Her, she managed to save me from insanity. I would often turn on my kindle numerous times in the night/early hours while I fed my demanding newborn. It is my belief that her writing skills are what got me through those difficult hours.

Sierra is now one of my favourite female characters, I loved how she was "Too nice" and was always so happy and optimistic, she had an intuition about people too that was rarely wrong.

Evan  is haunted by the death of his mother and as a result is in a dark place, a place where he as vowed never to let himself get close to anyone again for fear of feeling the same depth of despair that his mothers passing caused.
Sierra as other ideas and is determined to break down his barriers into his heart.

I was impressed with myself for figuring out the "bad guy" of the story maybe my brain works differently at 2 o'clock in the morning when I am already sleep deprived which is how I was able to guess correctly it was a great curve ball though.

There was a few moments when I wanted to kick Evan's ass for the way he treated or talked to Sierra but Sierra never gives up on him.

An amazing story line with amazing characters, especially the hot Aussie ball player Evan *swoon* I can certainly see why Sierra wanted him so much.
It was an emotional roller-coaster at times especially as sierra started to break the cracks in Evans barrier

I loved to see the familiar faces of Everly and Cole from for Everly too although there is no need to for Everly to read meant for her I would highly recommend it as it is also a fantastic book.

Author: Wendy Knight
Check out on Goodreads!
Publication Date: October 15, 2013

Synopsis: Working with the ex you secretly love to save the souls of the innocent
is almost as bad as working with a mighty battle unicorn who would be thrilled
to watch you plummet to your death.

Scout is used to
pain. Her body has been broken, her heart has been broken, and the only thing
keeping her together is her relationship with her younger sister. Lil Bit
believes in unicorns and terrifying monsters she calls soul stealers. But
unicorns and monsters aren’t real…are they?

When Lil Bit falls
prey to the mysterious disease sweeping the country, Scout has two options –
believe the doctors who say it’s a pandemic or believe Lil Bit, who says it’s
the soul stealers. She chooses her sister and goes looking for the unicorns who
are supposed to save them. What she finds aren’t the cute pastel mythical
creatures she expects. Battle unicorns are big and tough and full of attitude.
Who knew?

Unicorns are real
and so are the monsters. Soul stealers are reaping the souls of the innocent,
and the unicorns are fighting to stop them. But to save the world, they need
the help of humans – the enemy they’re dying to protect. And first to sign up
for the fight is the ex-boyfriend Scout’s heart won’t stop loving, no matter
how determined she is to hate him.

TOP TEN QUOTES

*They’d broken up over a year ago.
She didn’t care. She wasn’t still in love with him. She wasn’t still devastated
over his complete and absolute crushing of her heart.
Not at
all.

*She
still used the same lotion — lilac scented. If he lived forever, that smell
would still remind him of her.

*He
watched her, watched those lips, fighting memories again. She’d been his first
kiss. And nothing since had ever felt as good.

*Trey
loved it when she forgot she hated him.

*“I
want someone to make me forget Scout ever existed.”

*Trey
had never been tempted to kiss his brother before, but he was pretty tempted
now.

*She’d
had only a brief glimpse, but it was seared into her brain: a gigantic black
horse with a burning horn in the center of its head.

*Scout
nodded, wishing she wasn’t trembling like a small, hairless dog in a hurricane.
*“Wait!”
Trey ran in front of them, holding his hands up like he could stop beasts the
size of small elephants. “I’m coming. I want to fight, too.”

“You’re kidding me.” Scout nearly fell off her unicorn.

*It
wasn’t possible. She couldn’t. She wasn’t brave enough. She wasn’t strong
enough.
“But
I am,”
Ashra said quietly.
*“Forgive
me
,” she read in a whisper, her finger tracing the hard black letters
tattooed on his arm.

*“I
like it better when you call me Princess.” Scout smiled. “Things are a little
too real when you start calling me Scout.”

*My
heart belongs wherever you are. Even if where you are—” he paused and looked
around them, swallowing hard, “—is here.”

Infernal Gates

Synopsis: Ethan Freeman, ex-Special Forces Ranger, wakes up to discover he is the sole survivor of a fiery commercial airline crash that killed his entire family. His nightmare is only beginning when he becomes the FBI’s prime suspect. Only Ethan knows he’s not a cold-hearted murderer, but he has no idea what happened to him--and why he alone survived.

He finds an unlikely ally in Sam Weaver, the NTSB Chief Investigator. An ex-military pilot, Sam senses Ethan is innocent. She tries to remain dispassionate in her investigation of the crash even as she finds herself attracted to the man who may be America's worst homegrown mass-murderer.

Neither Ethan nor Sam realize that shadowy spiritual forces are at work which will alter their lives forever. A monstrous evil, imprisoned since the time of the Pharaohs, has been released by The Nine, a sinister group of powerful men and women who believe they are the direct descendants of the Anunnaki, ancient Sumerian gods. The demon they have unleashed intends to free The Destroyer from The Abyss, the angelic prison referred to in the Book of Revelation, and unleash a worldwide reign of terror and annihilation.

Facing impossible odds, time is running out for Ethan and all of humanity as he is drawn into an ever-deeper conspiracy--millennia in the making--and learns that he is the key to stopping The Nine. He must overcome his deepest fears and find reserves of strength he never knew he had as he confronts pure evil in order to save himself and an unsuspecting world.

SNEAK PEEK

Less than ten minutes
before we’re all dead,
thought
Ethan Freeman, and there is nothing I can do about it!

The stricken A320
Airbus--originally bound for St. Thomas and now limping back to Charlotte,
North Carolina—shuddered like a bird suffering a mortal wound, then shook
violently.  Shouting and screaming from the rear of the plane drowned out
the prayer of the older couple seated in front of them, “Our Father, Who art in
Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name, Thy kingdom come—”

Lisa, Ethan’s wife,
sobbed beside him.  Across the aisle his eighteen year-old son, Josh,
yelled, “Dad--are we going to crash?”

“No, son,” he lied.
 “We-are-not-going-to-crash.”

Megan, his sixteen
year-old daughter, seated next to her brother, screamed, “The engine is on
FIRE!”

Lisa clung to the seat
arms so hard her fingers turned white and whimpered, “We’re all going to
die--just like Greg,” then moaned, “I don’t want to die—”

Ethan reached for his
wife’s hand as a thunderous explosion shook the plane and slammed him against
the window, knocking breath out of him.  He cried out in agony as the palm
of his right hand was sliced open by a jagged metal clasp sticking up on the
arm rest between him and Lisa.  Blood gushed out of the ugly-looking wound
and splattered the back of the seat in front of him.

The plane banked hard to
the right and the nose suddenly pointed toward the ground, six miles below, as
if the commercial airliner was being plucked from the cloudless, crystal blue
heavens by a giant unseen hand.  Ethan glanced toward the rear of the
aircraft.  A gaping hole replaced the emergency exit.  Loose debris
disappeared violently out of the plane—and there were at least two rows of
seats missing!

Swinging his gaze back
to the First Class Cabin, Ethan noticed that ice crystals now clung to the
windows.  His ears popped as oxygen masks dropped from overhead.
Shivering, he reached for the oxygen mask dangling in front of him like a
puppet on a string and struggled to place it over his mouth and nose.  He
took several deep breaths, ignoring his bleeding hand, then yelled out to his
family, “Put your masks on!”

In the next instant, he
was pressed so hard into his seat it seemed as if he weighed four to five times
his normal weight.  Black spots danced before his eyes and he fought for
breath.

All he could think about
was that he had failed his family—that he had not been able to save them.
He cried out in desperation, “GOD HELP US—”

Moments later, a flash
of blinding white light enveloped him as a blast of fiery heat washed over him.

Then everything went black.

About the Author: Michael J. Webb graduated summa cum laude from the
University of Florida and obtained his J. D. from the same university.

supernatural thrillers.

Michael
and his wife make their home in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Review; Coco Pinchard's Big Fat Tipsy Wedding (Coco Pinchard #2)

The highly anticipated sequel to the hit bestseller The Not So Secret Emails Of Coco Pinchard!

A year has passed, Coco's career has taken off, and her relationship with the hunky Adam is going from strength to strength... there is even talk of marriage!

Then the day before Adam is due to move in - he ends their relationship without explanation... After the initial shock and anger (and an 'I told you so' from ex mother-in-law Ethel) Coco digs deeper and discovers why. Adam is in terrible trouble, and he needs her help.

Will Adam's mistake come between them? Or will they get to live happily ever after?

Featuring an exciting cast of characters both familiar and new, and of course a starring role for the wonderfully horrible Ethel! Coco Pinchard's Big Fat Tipsy Wedding is a hilarious, heart warming romantic comedy.

My thoughts
woo hoo Coco is back and Author Rob Bryndza does it again in this sequel.

everything seems to be going so well for Coco her career as taken off and with another book in the pipeline she as finally made it. Her divorce from Daniel is done and her relationship with Adam is going great with plans for him to move in when her son moves out. Of course though this is Coco's life and it isn't long until until things begin to fall apart around her in spectacular style.

I laughed I cried and I laughed some more in this second installment, there was even a bit of paranormal activity thrown into the mix.

there was all the familiar characters I loved from the first book, I was pleased to welcome Ethel back into the mix, I just love her character even if she was in my life she would thoroughly irritate me.
there was also a few new characters in the shape of Rosencrantz new flat mates, again, brilliant characters brought to life on the pages.

I finished this book eager for the third installment, hope I don't have too long await
